Everything from opening Talkue for the first time to recording your first video in front of the camera.

1. Getting started

1. On the home screen, tap ＋ New script.
2. Type a title and your script, or paste it from elsewhere. Everything is saved automatically.
3. Tap ▶ Read. After a 3-2-1 countdown the text starts scrolling.
4. Tap the screen once to pause.

2. Managing your scripts

New script

＋ New script opens an empty script. If you go back without writing anything, nothing is added to your list.

Importing a file

Import file lets you pick a .txt file from your phone, iCloud Drive or Google Drive. The file name becomes the title and its contents the script. Files can be up to 1 MB (about 150,000 words). For Word or PDF documents, copy the text and paste it into a new script.

Editing, searching and deleting

• Tap a card to edit the script. The word count and estimated speaking time are shown at the bottom.
• Once you have scripts, a search box appears at the top; it searches titles and text.
• To delete a script, swipe its card left and tap the red Delete button. Deleted by mistake? Tap Undo at the bottom within 5 seconds. You can also long-press a card to delete it with a confirmation.
• If you erase all of a script's text and go back, the script is removed too.

3. Script markers

A few simple markers shape how your script is read. The ? button at the top right of the editor shows a reminder.

4. The reading screen

The reader shows large, clear text on a black background that's easy on the eyes. The thin yellow line near the top is the reading line: try to keep the line you're reading level with it.

Gestures

What you see

• Progress bar (yellow, at the very top): how much of the script you've read.
• Status (while the panel is open): state, time left and your pace in words per minute. For example: Playing · 1:20 left · 145 wpm.
• At the end of the script scrolling stops and the phone gives a short vibration.

Where you left off

Talkue remembers your place in every script, even if you change the text size or rotate the phone. Use ↻ in the panel to go back to the start. Editing a script resets its position.

Switching apps

Reading pauses automatically for calls or when you switch apps. The screen doesn't dim while the reader is open.

5. Control panel

The panel opens at the bottom whenever reading is paused. While reading, long-press to open it; it hides again after 8 seconds without a touch.

6. Target time

For scripts that must fit a set length: tap ⏱ Target time in the panel and pick anything from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. The text scrolls so that it ends exactly on time, even if you change the text size.

• The target is remembered separately for each script.
• Tapping the speed buttons turns the target off and continues from the current speed.
• Choose Off to turn it off.

7. Sections

If your script has headings starting with #, a Sections button appears in the panel. Tap it to list the headings, then tap one to jump there. You can also say “Prompter, next section”.

8. Recording mode

Want only the text on screen? Turn on Recording mode in the panel. Once reading starts, the panel, status, progress bar and reading line are hidden and only the text remains. Long-press to bring the controls back; a single tap still starts and pauses.

9. Mirroring and teleprompter glass

A teleprompter glass (beam splitter) reflects the screen backwards. Use Mirror to flip the text left-to-right and Flip to turn it upside down; turn on one or both depending on your rig. Dragging follows the mirrored direction.

10. Voice follow

With voice follow on, the text doesn't scroll at a fixed speed; it follows your speech:

• It moves as you talk, stops when you stop and continues when you start again.
• Speed up and it speeds up; slow down and it slows down.
• Skipped words, slips and filler sounds (“um”) don't throw it off.
• Re-read a sentence and the text goes back to it.
• Things you say that aren't in the script (“sorry, one second”) don't move it.

Turn it on with Voice follow in the panel or say “Prompter, follow me”. The first time, you'll be asked for microphone and speech recognition access.

11. Voice commands

Turn on 🎙 Voice commands in the panel. A small microphone shows at the top right while they're on and turns green while listening. Say “Prompter” first, then the command. The recognized command briefly appears on screen with a light vibration.

Voice commands currently understand English and Turkish. If the app is set to another language, say the commands in English. More languages will come in updates.

12. Camera mode

Camera mode shows your script right next to the front camera while you record yourself, so your eyes stay on the lens and you appear to be talking straight to your viewer.

Opening it

In the reader, open the panel and tap 📷 Camera. The first time, you'll be asked for camera and microphone access. The same button takes you back to the normal reader.

Portrait

The text scrolls in a see-through strip at the very top of the screen, right under the camera. The line you're reading sits at the top of the strip, closest to the lens.

Landscape

Just turn the phone. The strip becomes a narrow column against the edge where the camera is, and the record buttons move to the opposite edge. The Strip button in the panel switches between two layouts:

• By the camera: handheld or close up.
• At the top: on a tripod 1–2 meters away, with wider, larger text.

Text size is remembered separately for portrait and landscape.

Recording

1. Tap the red record button. Recording starts and the text begins after the 3-2-1 countdown.
2. A timer shows while recording and the control panel hides. The orientation locks so a tilt won't rotate the video.
3. Tap the square button to stop. If the script ends, recording stops by itself 1.5 seconds later.
4. The video is saved to Photos. The text isn't in the video; it only contains what the camera sees.

13. Bluetooth remote

Ring-style Bluetooth remotes (such as the BLE-M3) connect to your phone like a touchscreen:

• The up / down buttons scroll the text.
• The middle button (a tap) starts or pauses reading.

Just pair the remote in your phone's Bluetooth settings; there's nothing to set up in Talkue.

14. Settings and languages

From the ⚙︎ icon at the top right of the home screen:

• App language: your device language or one of 10 languages. Choosing Arabic switches to a right-to-left layout; you'll be asked to close and reopen the app.
• Countdown: 0–10 seconds (0 = off).
• Reading line position: how far down the screen it sits.
• Show reading line: turns the yellow reading line on or off.
• Line spacing.
• Help: this guide, support and the privacy policy.

The text direction follows the script itself, not the app language: an Arabic script reads right-to-left even in an English interface.

15. Free trial and subscription

• Try Talkue free for 7 days with every feature unlocked.
• Unless you cancel before the trial ends, a monthly subscription starts and is charged to your App Store or Google Play account.
• The subscription renews every month until you cancel. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the current period.

Cancelling

• iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Talkue → Cancel Subscription.
• Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Talkue → Cancel.

On a new phone or after reinstalling, use Restore purchases on the subscription screen.

16. Your data and privacy

• Your scripts and settings are stored only on your phone. No account, no ads, no tracking.
• Deleting the app deletes your scripts. Keep a copy of important scripts elsewhere.
• Videos you record are saved only to your phone's Photos.
